Speaking with Strategic Capital’s Sandi Whittingham
In my experience, It is about listening to the customer and understanding their current needs. So what brought them to Strategic Capital?
Yes, all Settlements are significant and are set up to accommodate the needs at the time and projected future needs of the client. However, as we know, some unexpected obstacles and challenges occur in life. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen life occurrences, money is not always readily available or accessible to deal with these occurrences.
I have been with Strategic for over 25 years; believe me, some of the calls we receive are heartbreaking. Some Examples are stories of homelessness, the need for emergency medical procedures, difficulty finding employment due to injuries, and, unfortunately, many more things as the list goes on.
I recently received a call from a young woman who has had a string of bad luck (her words) and is now homeless. She was trying to figure out the best action plan for her and her daughter and decided that selling some of her payments may be best. We spoke at length, and I gave her an offer based on her request; however, I suggested that she not sell as the payments would benefit her when they come due (due to her current situation). Some more suggestions I gave were to try and find different employment or additional employment that may offer more income, and to see if family/friends can help her with housing, temporarily. She appreciated the time I took to listen and explain options to her.
All of this circles back to listening and understanding the customers’ needs.
At Strategic, our goal is to do our best to help our customers in their time of need and help them be in a better place to overcome whatever challenges they may be facing. We may not always be able to help with our customer’s current needs, but it does make a difference to them to know that there is another door for them to open to ask for help.
Let us help when help is needed.
