Walter
Walter, diagnosed with terminal cancer, was given just a few months to live. His only chance was to have an expensive operation but he didn't have the money to pay for it. A future stream of structured settlement income would be of no use to Walter so his insurance company recommended Strategic Capital. We provided him with a lump sum of cash, some of which he used to have an operation. Walter underwent the operation in June 2003, and in June 2004, he stepped out of his wheelchair and is now walking on his own power. Without selling his structured settlement, Walterwould not have been able to afford the operation and would not be alive today.
Amadeo
Amadeo had previously sold a portion of his structured settlement to a competitor in order to enter the real estate market. After obtaining his real estate broker's license, he needed funds to invest in a real estate business.
Strategic Capital purchased the remaining portion of Amadeo's structured settlement payments, charging a much lower discount rate than the competitor for the initial transaction; in fact, the competitor's rate was 50% higher than Strategic Capital’s. This exorbitant difference in rates charged resulted in Amadeo receiving thousands of dollars more from Strategic Capital than from the competition. Amadeo successfully invested his settlement funding in a real estate company and is now a partner in the business.
Debbie
Debbie learned about Strategic Capital by visiting our web site. We offered her a larger lump sum for her annuity payments than other competitors did. With the settlement funding from Strategic Capital, Debbie paid for her wedding and invested the balance in her husband's (Greg) business. At the time, Greg owned and operated one old concrete pump. Debbie and Greg invested in an updated commercial unit. This investment improved business so much that two more pumps were purchased. The business has continued to grow and Greg now manages a team of people; further expansion plans are underway. Success has given Debbie and her family new opportunities and flexibility.
