Do I have to sell my entire settlement?

No, our team of experts is able to tailor an option specific to your needs.

Do I have to hire an attorney to give me Independent Legal Advice?

We always recommend you seek professional advice. Some States require that you get Independent Legal Advice (Alaska, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio). Most states do not make it a requirement so it's up to you.

What is the process of selling my Structured Settlement?

The Strategic Capital team follows a five step process to ensure your transaction is hassle-free.

  • Our expert client representative speaks with you to understand your current and future needs.
  • We tailor transactions specific to your needs.
  • We encourage you to obtain legal advice before signing the contract.
  • We go to court and obtain approval for your transaction.
  • After approval in court, we obtain a copy of your court order, make sure we have everything we need then fund you your money.

Will I need to appear in court?

Your client representative will let you know if you are required to attend the hearing. If yes, he or she will help you prepare for the hearing.

How will I receive and send back documents?

Your Strategic representative will work with you to determine the easiest method for you. You have the option of a prepaid courier, fax or email.

How long after the court approval will I be funded?

Usually we fund you within 72 hours after we receive a copy of the court order and acknowledgment letter from your Insurance Company, Strategic Capital reviews your documents and ensures we have a complete file ready for funding. Your client representative will be in touch with you to provide you with a specific timeframe
on funding.

Is there a way I can get an advance?

In some circumstances, we will make a loan advance. Please speak with your client representative about your current financial situation. He or she will be happy to discuss the options available to you.

What information do I have to give you?

The Strategic Capital team will send you a list of required documents. For example, we will need your current contact information, photo ID and a policy/benefits letter from your insurance company in addition to a basic set of Strategic
Capital paperwork.

How long will it take to get my money?

Please contact your client representative for a specific estimate for the timing in your state. We usually estimate that it will take 60-90 days from the time we receive all of your paperwork. But our fastest transaction only took us 17 days.

What is an acknowledgment letter?

A written confirmation from your insurance company stating it has changed its records to reflect that you have sold your payments.

Will I have to contact the attorneys to make an appointment?

No, our attorney will contact you.

How will the money be sent?

We usually wire your money. Please speak with your client representative if you are interested in hearing about other options available to you.

Who can I contact if I want to sell more payments?

If you would like to sell more payments, contact your client representative or the Strategic Capital main line and we will put you in touch with the appropriate person.

How much are my winnings worth today?

Everyone's payments are worth a different amount depending on how many years are left and the size of each payment.  We will establish the value of your lottery or jackpot winnings and present Provide you with a free no-obligation quote.

How long does the process take?

It can take 60 to 90 days to complete the transaction, depending on how busy the court is in your state.

Are there any hidden fees?

No, there aren't any additional fees; we cover all related processing costs.

Do I need to sell all of my payments at once?

No, you can sell all or a portion of your payment stream in order to obtain the amount of cash you need.  For example, you can sell a percentage of each of your next 10 payments, or you can sell the entire amount of your next five payments.  We will help you find the best solution for your personal needs.

What if I sold payments to another company?

This doesn't present a problem.  We can simply buy payments that you haven't sold and are still due to you in the future.
